Welcome to the Polites Family Launching Place....

The WWW home of Jennifer, Thomas, George & Theodore Polites.

We live on a farm about 60 kilometers outside of Melbourne, Australia, in a suburb called Launching Place; which just happens to be a great name for a home page, don't you think?

Launching Place is in the Yarra Valley, one of the main water-catchment areas for Melbourne. Typically, we get around 850mm (34") of rain per year.... With the wacky weather patterns in the Pacific at the moment - thanks to the Big El - we've been getting HALF that and having to buy water to fill our rainwater tanks.....

It's such a lovely place to live and bring up our boys Thomas and Geroge. We have our horses and cattle and about 90 acres of virgin Aussie (pronounced OZZIE, ok?) bush out the back full of wildlife.

Jennifer, after 15+ years of working in the Foreign Exchange markets and for one of Australia's biggest banks as an electronic business systems Marketing Manager, has retired to spend time chasing Tom and George around the farm, playing with the horses, the dog, cat and goat.

Me, well I worked for a major computer company but now I consult -'nuff said.

The rest of my family consists of a Dad who lives in Melbourne (see... not all computer types are hatched!) and two older sisters (one in Melbourne and one in Canberra) with 10 nieces & nephews from my side and two from Jen's.

Jen's Mum lives on a beautiful lake on the New South Wales/Victoria border & her Dad and Step-Mum live in an equally nice spot right on the water in Queensland (Oh! I love visiting the rellies!). Her Brother, his wife and two gorgeous girls live in Sydney.

So... That's the Family.

George Benjamin was born on Nov. 19 @ 15:38 Australian Eastern Std Time, weighed in at a hefty 8lb 8ozs.

He gets his names from his Great-Grandfather on my side (George) and his mum's dad (Benjamin) who is now the spiting image of as a bub... according to Jen's family.

Tom is a pretty active boy and -- with a carbon-copy growing up -- I hope that our 150 acres is going to be big enough for them both!!!

Tom wants to do two things NOW.... Go to school (time heals all, doesn't it) and become a Scout. Jen is a Cub Leader (Bahgeera) and I'm a Scout Leader (Gadget) with the 1st Warburton Troop.

Well, this is the first page of a whole string of interesting and strange stuff that we will be adding to this page (links for which will be included in the section that currently says "... And this is the Launching Pad to life in Launching Place!").
